Disco Disco – the catch phrase from Adam Sandler’s critically underrated You Don’t Mess with the Zohan has become synonymous with MattGC. His genre-straddling, award-deserving mixtape series, Disco Disco, launched MattGC as a DJ, whilst sparking a musical trend that DJ’s across the country are just now catching up to. By combining the dance-floor ready beats of electro house with the club sensibilities of hip-hop and r&b, MattGC created Disco Disco to amazing popularity. Seemingly overnight, Matt’s Disco Disco mash-ups spread from DJ to DJ across Australia, much to the delight of the dance floor. Indeed, most of Australia’s high-profile Urban DJ’s can be found spinning several of Matt’s remixes regularly – you’ve probably already heard them playing a few!
Never one to rest on his laurels, MattGC quickly progressed from mixtapes and mash-ups to club ready remixes. Thanks to strong support from blogs and digital record pools, Matt’s latest remixes have become a viral phenomenon, appearing in mixes from DJ’s across the Globe.
As a promoter involved with South East Queensland’s premier urban club events (Bedroom, SinCity, Magic City), MattGC learned from the inside what makes a DJ stand out from the crowd.
